Answers about Our Etched Glass Decor & Quality Guarantees
How do you make such detailed etchings?
Other etchings grind deeply into the surface of the glass, erasing any possibility of fine details and crunching the glass surface into tiny shards that leave a rough surface where it's been etched.
But run your finger over the etching you receive from us. You'll find the etching so delicate that the etched surface feels almost as smooth as polished glass.
That delicate etch is what gives you such detail.
Yet, delicate as it is, your etching is still permanent. Clean it, polish it as much as you like. We guarantee you will never get it to fade or wear away.
Display your etching in your home wherever it will make the most impact. Gaze at the delicately contrasting shades this process brings to it. Enjoy a feeling of realism beyond anything you ever expected from etched glass.
Are these etchings made by hand or by machine?
A special accent for your home should be more than just something spit out of a machine. And with us, it is.
Skilled artisans etch each piece individually; no etching is done by machine. Yet every etching of the artwork you choose is identical. Your etching will look exactly like what you see on the website.
What does all this mean for you? Etching each piece individually means that human eyes inspect your etching at least five times throughout the process of etching, assembly, and shipping. That ensures that you receive only the best.
How long will my etching last?
Go ahead and polish your mirror as much as you want. Your etching will never fade or wear off. We will gladly replace any etching that fails to live up to this guarantee. Note: this lifetime guarantee does not apply to broken glass except within the first 10 days after shipment as below.
Will my mirror reflect like a normal mirror?
Your mirror will sparkle as bright as any mirror you've ever seen. Our pictures show them reflecting a plain gray background to give you the clearest possible view of the design.
But hang your mirror on your wall and whatever is gray in the pictures will reflect whatever background is around it, just like any other mirror. Whatever is lighter colored in the pictures is etched and does not reflect.
What materials are used for frames and tables?
Our frames and furniture are crafted in the USA with the highest quality materials. We use the top-quality hardwoods you find in fine, hand-crafted furniture; No plastic, No resin, No "reconstituted wood products" (a polite name for a sawdust and glue mixture that is moulded and painted to look like real wood).
How sturdy are the frames and tables?
Test them yourself. Wiggle them. Jiggle them. You won't find a wobble or a loose joint in any of our etched glass products.
How is the wood finished?
Run your hand over the surface of the wood and feel the silky smoothness of its hand-rubbed, double lacquer finish. You'll enjoy the same feel of permanence and quality you would get from fine furniture that you buy from the biggest name furniture manufacturers.
How sturdy is the glass in the tables?
Pick up the glass in your hands. The weight alone will show you with how sturdy it is. All the glass used in our tables is 1/4", double-thick glass to give you a glass top that will stand up to any normal use.
Is it possible to break it? Yes. But don't worry that any little tap or weight will shatter it into a million pieces. You'd almost have to be trying to break it to get it to break.
Don't be foolish with it, but don't worry that it will snap under the weight of a book or a coffee mug. You'll understand what I'm talking about when you pick it up. It will surprise you with how heavy it is.
How reliable are these clocks at keeping time?
Know that you're getting the right time with your reliable, quartz-movement clocks. These movements run on two AA batteries (not included). We guarantee them unconditionally for one full year.
How sturdy are the hangers used on the coat racks?
Hang the heaviest of your coats on the sturdy brass and porcelain coat hooks on the coat rack you choose. Or leave them uncovered so you can enjoy the elegance of their antique brass finish and porcelain tips.
Do I need to assemble anything when my order arrives?
No! All of our etched glass products arrive fully assembled. No complicated assembly instructions; No wobbly joints; No spending your time surrounded by pieces that you hope will someday look like what you ordered. Just remove your order from its shipping box and it's ready to go wherever it will make the most impact in your home.
What if my order is damaged in shipping?
The possibility that your order will arrive damaged is very small. Your order is shipped directly by the manufacturer who has been shipping glass and mirrors for more than a decade and works closely with UPS to ensure that their packaging can protect your purchase from the normal handling process.
But, unfortunately, damage sometimes happens despite our best efforts. If your order is one of the few that arrives damaged, we'll replace it right away at no further charge. Email us within 10 days of receipt for further instructions.
What if I want to return my order for a refund or exchange?
Exchanges are available for the same item or a comparably priced item at no additional cost. Refunds requested for reasons other than damage or incorrect product will be issued minus shipping/handling charges and are subject to a possible 10% to 20% restocking fee. Email us within 10 days of receipt for further instructions.
